The definition of what is strictly psychological, and the pitfalls of dualism

Abstract

The psychological studies have fallen many times in the trap of dualism when they consider some metaphorical expressions as realities. Ribes and López search a way to avoid this problem through the kantorian notion of interbehavior. The proposal of Ribes and López is in advance from the theoretical approaches more common in Psychology but it does not explain phenomena as the "qualia": the particular and intrasferable experience when a human being is facing environmental, proprioceptive and interoceptive stimulation. An objective study of qualia needs an analysis of "autoreflexive" behavior. Linguistic signs, written materials and graphical or artistic productions are the basis of autoreflexive behavior. This kind of behavior is integrated by sequences of responses. Some of these responses implicate a kind of second order codification. Temporal dimension is necessary in order to discover the mechanism of second order codification. A more comprehensive approach to the behavioral analysis could be obtained by theory of' Ribes and López if they give more attention lo temporal dimension.
