The inhibition of delay has recently been investigated in human adults using a video game based on conditioned avoidance (Moler, Leconte, et Rosas, 2006; Molet et Rosas, 2007). In the present experiment, the possibility of using this task as a 1001 tor studying conditioned avoidance and inhibition of delay in children is investigated. A coloured 3-sec signal, for example pink, preceded an aversive event (A+) and a different coloured a-sec signal, for example yellow, preceded the absence of the aversive event (8-). Results indicated that as with adults the avoidance response was great ertowards the end of the A+ signal This is called the inhibition of delay. Results suggest that this task has the potential to be used in the study of conditioned avoidance and inhibition of delay with children.
